Kabuki Theater

Kabuki Theater is a lot diffrent then what i expected. I was expecting hard hitting action and crazy fun effects. But what i found was boring and lame. In the youtube video i watched they moved very slow and without energy or enthusiasum. I most likely wouldn't enjoy myself at a kabuki show. But one thing i found intresting was from my wikipedia search result. I found out that the Kabuki theater was known for it's elaborate and cray make up.

I agree with you Kia musical theater is a great thing to be involved in. Yes! Our instructors are amazing! If theater made them so bubbly and full of fun im glad to be part of musical theater in hopes that i will be the same when i grow up. ( :

History Of Olivia...Oooops i mean Mulan ( : lol

The tale of Mulan is pretty intresting. It first started as a chinese poem that was well known in the 6th century. The time period of witch it was written was before the Tang Dynasty. But the story hasn't changed at all sience it's birth. It has always been about the courageous Mulan joining an all male army to save her fathers life. I like the wikipedia source because it shows actual chinese script and showes a oil painting of the Mulan. It gave me the feal that a ancient chinese musuem would. ( :

Musical Theater!! ( :

I was intrested in how theater has grown over the years. So I watched a peformance of the well known song "And I am Telling You" from the Dream Girls play of 1982, and compared it to the plays of today. The most evident diffrence to me was set design. In the 1982 version of the play things were less flashy and more concentrated on the music and the actors performance. As in todays musical theater things are BIGGER and a lot more FLASHY! Watching the video without all the flashy designs kept me more focused on the performance. I like the old way but i still enjoy modern day musical theater. My name is Duray and im expecting this to be a fun filled experience. Auditions made me EXTREMLY nervous and jittery. But i think it was all worth it. I have only ben on stage once befor in High School Musical. It was a blast! I believe this experience will be equally fun!! ( :
